Lessons My Father Didn't Teach Me

For over 300,000 years, the emotional evolution of men was simple, primarily tied to survival. Emotions were rarely about connection or introspection—they were about living to see another day. A successful hunt or escaping danger meant celebration. But as society evolved, so did the complexities of human relationships, leaving men in a conundrum.

While men were focused on survival, women took a different path. They stayed in the village, supporting each other emotionally and spiritually, forming the earliest support groups. This difference in evolution means that today, men are expected to meet women emotionally—a challenge our ancestors never prepared us for.

Fast forward to the 21st century. We’re no longer being chased by wild animals, but the emotional expectations placed on men have dramatically shifted. Women now need men to connect with them on deeper emotional and spiritual levels. But here’s the issue: this need isn’t intuitive for us. It’s not something our fathers or grandfathers taught us, not because they didn’t want to, but because they didn’t know how.

So where does that leave us?

As modern men, we love our partners, we crave connection, yet we often fall short. Our partners feel disconnected, lonely, and unfulfilled, waiting for us to rise to the occasion and meet them where they are—emotionally, spiritually, and physically. The gap between expectation and ability is real, but it’s not insurmountable.

This realization led me on a journey—one that spanned nearly 25 years and a significant investment of time and resources. I sought answers, tools, and methods to bridge this emotional gap, not just for myself but for all men who want to evolve and connect with their partners like never before.

That’s why I created the Alive Partner Course and Community. My mission is to close this emotional gap and help men develop the tools needed to build strong, fulfilling relationships. I’m also committed to teaching these lessons to my son, ensuring that future generations of men are better equipped to navigate the emotional complexities of relationships.
